All teens need some time to grow emotionally. Melinda during the course of the school year grew more mature, and dealt with her problems. Some of Melinda’s problems relate to real life that many teens experience.
The character Melinda in the book Speak goes through many changes. In the beginning of the school year Melinda was lonely because her friends wouldn’t talk to her because of the party. High School is bad for Melinda because she had no one to talk to. As the school year went on Heather started to talk to Melinda, and Melinda trusted Mr. Freeman.
Mr. Neck is cruel to kids and he likes no one for instance on page 56, David Petrakis argues that Mr. Neck cant close a debate because he didn’t get his way. Also, Mr. Neck doesn’t listen to anyone when he said “I decide who talks in here”. Mr. Neck has no right to say what he said and there is a roomful of kids who have a right to speak and Mr. Neck can’t abuse that.
Some of Melinda’s problems relate to real life that many teens experience. Do all kids have depression through their lives or does it stop?

You made some good points in the begginging, but next time try to make your conclusion a little bit longer by saying the purpose of the story in the conclusion.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the past comments you had a good starting paragraph and body paragraph, but a bad conclusion. Great paper, but next ime take more time on your conclusion.
